Valentine’s Day is a holiday that has a tendency to sneak up on us over here, but this year we have been really looking forward to any excuse to commemorate our love for each other, our families, our community, and – of course! – our clients.
After all, there’s nothing more festive than the celebration of love! To get in the spirit, we’ve been slowly incorporating seasonal décor into our homes and wanted to share with you some of our favorite simple tips on how you can surround yourself with touches of love, romance, and candy – lots of candy!
#1. Make it Personal
Placing a love note, lyrics to your wedding song, or a romantic poem in a beautiful frame is a lovely way to add a personal touch to your décor for the holiday, or even year-round. This also makes for a great gift idea (hint hint, fellas)!
#2. Add Fresh Blooms
Whether you are setting the table for small Galentine’s Day get-together or having a romantic dinner for two, adding floral design to your set-up can make for a lovely, celebratory tablespace. You can DIY your design or reach out to local florists such as The Rustic Root in St. Clair Shores or Blossoms in Birmingham for ideas and inspiration.
#3. Don’t Put Away That Tree!
Can’t part with your Christmas tree this year? We don’t blame you! Luckily there are some amazing ways to take your tree from the Christmas season to the season of love. Better yet, you can spend time with the family creating new decorations and ornaments. For some amazing DIY ideas, check out home décor and DIY blogs, such as re-fabbed or Delineate Your Dwelling.
#4. Keep it Neutral
Simple, clean colors more your style? Keep it subtle and neutral by adding in wooden heart garland and romantic candles for a special touch to your already existing décor. Vintage touches also add a lovely and romantic way to celebrate the season.
#5. Add a Touch of Sweetness
What better way to decorate than with arguably the best part of Valentine’s Day? Sweets! Adding themed candy or cookies to glass vases and jars make for an easy, and edible, touch of the holiday spirit to your home. For local goodies, check out Love and Buttercream in Birmingham or Pop’s in St. Clair Shores.
However you choose to celebrate love this holiday season, we here at Meadow’s Realty hope you have an amazing Valentine’s Day filled with laughter, sweets, and love.
