Candy, costumes, and crafts – oh my! The Halloween season is coming, and there are plenty of amazing events in Macomb and Oakland counties on the horizon for all to enjoy. Whether you’re looking for a full day of family-friendly activities, or a spooky and fun night out, we’ve put together a list of events in the area that are sure to please any Halloween-loving member of your family.
Oakland County Halloween Events
Canterbury Village Halloween Stroll
October 7th-30th | Canterbury Village | 2369 Joslyn Ct. Lake Orion, MI
A family-friendly stroll through the Village that features multiple encounters and exhibits, such as the spooky carousel house and pumpkin trees. The stroll ends with an afterparty that includes hot cider and snacks, as well as Oktoberfest beers and other spirits.
This event is for all ages. A ticket is required for entry.
Zoo Boo
October 8th-24th | Detroit Zoo | 8450 W. 10 Mile Rd. Royal Oak, MI
A local favorite, this annual event includes impressive decorations, strolling entertainment, goodie bags, and – of course – visits with some of your favorite animal friends. Guests are encouraged to wear their costumes!
This event is for all ages. A ticket is required for entry for guests 2 and over.
Downtown Rochester Trick or Treating and Halloween Fest
Enjoy trick or treating at downtown merchants and a Halloween parade, followed by Halloween Fest. Halloween Fest includes goodies, food trucks, and free pumpkins to the first 200 families who stop by the pumpkin patch.

Trick-or-Treat Along the Trail
October 16th, Multiple Times | Kensington Metropark | 2240 W. Buno Road. Milford, MI
Put on your costumes, grab your candy bucket, and follow the path of pumpkins along the festive trail at Kenington Metropark.
This event is for all ages. Pre-registration is required.
Jack O’ Lantern Jubilee
October 22nd, 4-7p | Wild Woods Park Novi | 26422 Wixom Rd. Novi, MI
Enjoy a self-guided trick-or-treating event, holiday crafts, character visits, and more.

Downtown Royal Oak Spooktacular
October 24th at 12p | Washington Street, Royal Oak, MI
Bring your family for trick-or-treating, a Monster Mash dance party, live entertainment, games, and more.
This is a free event for all ages.
Streets of Treats
October 30th, 10-11:30a | Downtown Northville
Kids and parents are invited to welcome the Tooth Fairy into town with a ceremonial wave, followed by trick-or-treating starting in town square and moving through multiple local downtown businesses.

Halloween Spooktacular
October 15th at 6:30p | Shelby Twp. Parks and Rec | 52700 Van Dyke, MI
Go trick or treating around Heritage Lake, followed up with a viewing of the movie “Scoob!” at 7:30p.

Great Pumpkin Fest
October 16th, 12-4p | Macomb Sports and Expo Center | 14500 E 12 Mile Rd. Warren, MI
Enjoy music, food and fun for all ages! Featuring cider & donuts, a fall market, food trucks, music, face painting, raffles, and Mad Science fire & ice shows. Proceeds to benefit the Macomb Student Immediate Relief Fund

Junk Drawer Mercantile Fall Festival

Come out to St. Clair Shores for a day of trick or treating, pumpkin decorating, costume contests, and shopping with 50 local vendors.

Harvest Treat

Come join the City of Warren for trick or treating, Halloween photos with (kid friendly!) witches, face painting, and free pumpkins.

Tot Boo Bash

An event for toddlers and young kids that includes plenty of arts and crafts to get your little one in the Halloween spirit! Each child will go home with candy, prizes, and their own mini pumpkin.
