Cranbrook House and Gardens
Less than 30 minutes West of Macomb
Explore incredible vistas at every turn and hear the relaxing melody of water streaming out of iconic fountains. Here, you will find the comforting smell of flowers blooming from many of the remarkable gardens, the feeling of the rich history, and exceptional craftsmanship all around. Enjoy events like yoga in the garden. Entrance into the gardens is free.
Detroit, MI.
Approximately 45 minutes South of Macomb
If you live in Macomb just North of the Motor City, you’re no stranger to the booming culture, nightlife and great cuisine offered a short drive away in the city of Detroit. While visiting enjoy family fun at a number of day trip destinations such as the River Walk, Campus Martius , Comerica Park, Little Caesars Arena, The Dequindre Cut and the Detroit Institute of Arts. This German themed town in Frankenmuth is about an hour drive North from Macomb. On your day trip here, you will find unique shops, boutiques, and the famous and local favorite cuisine – Zehnders Chicken! But Zehnders Village features more than famous chicken. Stop here to hit the marketplace, one of Michigan’s top golf courses “The Fortress”, and personal favorite: a day at Zehnders Splash Village. If you’re looking forward to Christmas and you need a good excuse to buy some decorations ahead of time, stop into Bronners Christmas Store, the world’s largest Christmas store!
Holly Recreation Area
Approximately 45 minutes West of Macomb
A short drive away, on this day trip you’ll find over 8000 acres of rolling fields and woodlands. This recreational giant features three lakes, two campgrounds with multiple cabins, a boat launch and the Holly Woods Disc Golf Course.
Huron-Clinton MetroParks

The Huron-Clinton Metroparks is a regional park system created in 1940 by the citizens of Southeast Michigan and today hosts some of Southeast Michigan’s most beloved parks and recreation areas. Today it hosts over 14 parks and activities including boat launches and rentals, playgrounds, walking paths and other nature exploration, fishing, camping, disc golf, beaches, hayrides, adventure gold and so much more! This day trip is sure to please everyone in your family for multiple outings a year.
