Happy Spooky Season, all! Time to break out your costumes and head out on the town.
There are so many events happening in and around Macomb and Oakland Counties, we couldn’t possibly list them all, but see below for some of the best family-friendly events our area has to offer.
Macomb County
Shelby Twp. Spooktacular
October 14th at 6pm
Shelby Twp. Municipal Campus | 52700 Van Dyke Ave. Shelby Twp. MI
Three sessions of trick or treating, starting at 6p, followed by a spooktacular movie at 7:30p. Families can decorate and pass out candy for free!
Frontier Town’s Annual Trick-or-Treat
October 25th from 1-3p
Frontier Town | 67300 Van Dyke Rd. Washington, MI
Come to Frontier Town in costume to trunk-or-treat. Participants are asked to decorate their spot/trunk and pass out candy to participate. Cost is $10 per vehicle which will be collected upon arrival and $5 per car will be donated to Indian Hills Elementary School.
Bark Boos & Brews
October 15th from 1-4p
Dragon’s Landing | 24409 Jefferson Ave. St. Clair Shores, MI
Join Dragon’s Landing for a day of Halloween fun for you and your pet! There will be a dog costume contest, Halloween bingo, and more!
You can also join Dragon’s Landing for an all-ages Trunk or Treat on October 30th from 12-2p!
Fall Into Fun Festival

Free pumpkin painting, cider, treats, story reading, and more!
Pop’s 4th Annual Truck-or-Treat
October 22nd from 4-7p
Pop’s Sweets and Treats | 90 Macomb Pl. Mt. Clemens, MI
This event will be held in the lot across from the store. Awards for costumes and trunkers displays will be given away at the end of the event, so stick around. Food trucks, music, and lots of candy!
Twisted Fears Haunted House Kid’s Day
October 30th from 5-6:30p
Twisted Fears | 24213 Harrison, Clinton Twp. MI
Walk through the haunted house – for free! – with no actors and kid-friendly scares. After dusk, the haunted house will operate as usual.
Oakland County
Trick or Treat with Glenlore Trails

Get your customers ready and head out to Glenlore Trains for trick or treating through their haunted forest. Reserve your tickets in advance and bring your own bag to collect candy.
Hocus Pocus Movie Madness

Come celebrate the season and enjoy a viewing of Hocus Pocus in the park!
Halloween Hoot Saturday

Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve | 333 North Hill Circle, Rochester, MI
Enjoy the Monster Mash Band, Singing Pumpkins, Out of This World Aliens, Campfire Entertainment, a spooky-themed nature program, and more! This iis a major fundraising event to raise critical funds that support the ongoing operation of Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve, a 501c3 organization.
Halloween Safety Bash
October 27th from 5-8p
Troy Police Department | 500 W. Big Beaver Rd. Troy, MI
A family-friendly event featuring decorating policy, fire, and EMS vehicles. The event is free, but tickets are required (link above) to reduce crowding.
Trick-or-Treat Stroll + Monster Mash
October 29th at 12p
Downtown Berkley | Coolidge Hwy & 12 Mile Rd.
Join the trick or treat stroll at participating businesses, followed by a Monster Mash block party featuring a live DJ, crafts, and activities from 2-6p.
Halloween Stroll
Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in October
Canterbury Village | 2325 Joslyn Ct. Lake Orion, MI
Stroll through the quaint Village, featuring multiple encounters and exhibits with characters along a path lit by orange glowing lamp posts and hand carved jack-o-lanterns. Passing through pumpkin trees, the spooky carousel house, scarecrow row, singing and dancing skeletons, the tunnel of fun, and much more! Buy your tickets in advance at the link above.
Zoo Boo
Weekends, October 8-23rd
Detroit Zoo | 8450 W. 10 Mile Rd. Royal Oak, MI
Explore the Zoo and experience festive pumpkin displays, strolling entertainment from jugglers and magicians and capture memories with themed photo opportunities all while visiting each of the trick-or-treating spots scattered throughout the Zoo!
